Sandy Reyes of Hearts and Thoughts Photography captured these lovely moments in our home just after by daughter was born. I'm so happy I have these made, because little did I know, there was a pandemic coming to turn our world's upside down. These were taken when she was a month old. Which was 3 weeks before the world shut down and we were unable to have guests.
When I was pregnant with my son, I read an article by a mother who grew up to realize she didn't have many pictures of her and her mother. The reason was simple, it was her mother that was always behind the camera. I wish I could remember who the article was by or where I found it so I could thank her. Mothers, we need to be in front of the camera too. Even if we don't look our best, or feel our best, it is important for our children. It is important for us. It is fun to look back at the silly moments from our childhoods, Christmas mornings in pjs, gatherings and with loved ones who are no longer with us.
Not only do I take pictures with my children, I also take pictures of them being them. Not just fancy ones posed by a professional photographer, but everyday life. They capture how our children have grown, how they have developed into people, and the fun they had. Personally, I love to take pictures of my children together. They have a sibling bond that is more love than hate. Being 18 months apart, they have grown to be best friends. Where one goes, the other is not too far behind. My daughter copies everything her brother does. Watching them run around the house and just be kids is joy after long days at work. It is important to be able to find pleasure in the little things.
